Sturgeon-Weir River Sturgeon Landing to Cumberland House
About this Canoe Route
Sturgeon-Weir River Sturgeon Landing to Cumberland House
After your put-in at Sturgeon Landing, the vista that you will see is the expanse of Namew Lake. With its large size and lack of islands to find the lee of the wind, this route is for intermediate or advanced paddlers.
Coffee point or tea point? Both are options on Namew's shores as you venture west.
Further south you can explore Limestone Narrows before crossing Cross Bay into Whitey Narrows. Mud Lake is a marshy area before you get into Cross Lake.
Your takeout is at Cumberland House.
