McLennan Lake Canoe Area Big Circle Route
About this Canoe Route
McLennan Lake Canoe Area Big Circle Route
Clockwise or Counterclockwise? Advantages and disadvantages depending on wind levels. It is a circuitous route from the put-in and take-out point west of Bear's Camp, a resort which provides a safe parking spot for a nominal fee. Montreal River Outpost can provide shuttle service to and from McLennan Lake and also equip you with the canoes you need for this trip.
Ponder the days of old by looking at the rock painting on Calder Lake. Scan the cliffs of the unnamed lake between Hornet and Settee Lake. Enjoy the lovely paddle along large islands and a peninsula on Settee Lake. Take a gander at the expanse of medium-sized lakes like Versailles, Davis, and McLennan.
Portages are varied in length and land formation. A great northern adventure is McLennan Lake's Big Circle Route!
