About this Canoe Route
Besnard to Nemeiben
Travel one of the most serene canoe trips in Northern Saskatchewan. With many areas on this canoe route consisting of prime camping land, you’ll find no shortage of areas to stop for a break or set up camp for the night. Although Besnard Lake is a big lake, a bevvy of large islands provide access to the lee wind. Numerous campsites dot the landscape near the portage into Triveet Lake. Explore the waters around Matheson Island on Clam Lake. Portages are slight to traverse into Howard and Head Lake before gaining access into Nemeiben Lake and its many bays.
At the end of the day, throw your fishing line into the lake for some prime fishing that some people only experience by float plane access. This canoe trip ends at the Nemeiben Lake Provincial Park where you can end your canoe trip with some front-country camping to segue back to civilization.
As the distance between the start and end points for this trip is a great distance, Montreal River Outpost offers the convenience of a shuttle service, in addition to our canoe rentals. Alternatively, you can put-in at Morning Lake if you prefer to shorten the distance to canoe. A great northern Saskatchewan trip!
